9/11

I was honored to visit the 9/11 Memorial in March. so many people reading this post were born after the terrorist attacks. Folks like me who witnessed the atrocities remember where they were and how they found out but perhaps not much else. I was at work but got very little work done that day. My wife and I were also expecting our first child so that ratcheted up the emotions.

I recall the resiliency and unity most of all. The desire that those directly impacted experienced healing. Baseball played a huge role in providing cathartic moments of joy. Take a a few minutes to cherish a few moments.

I find it wonderful that as a nation everyone gets together and commemorates this devastating day that affected hundreds of people. Although I was born early enough to remember the fear and anguish that washed over the United States, 9/11 still impacts me. I do not feel impacted the same as how my parents can remember their exact moments when they heard the news or how Muslims experienced long-term effects, or even relate to those who lost someone due to the attack. I do not feel impacted directly like others, but because I was taught the history, shown videos, and heard stories year after year, I do feel remorse and pride knowing that the United States will gather together during…

I was not alive when 9/11 happened but even so, I still feel the impact of such a disastrous event. 9/11 changed the way government and citizens view the world. It brought upon a new type of fear that America had not yet faced. Even amid hardship, Americans banded together during this time to love one another and build-one another up. It goes to show that even in a country where we see so much division when it comes down to it we do care about each other.

The Lord used many people during this time to achieve His will. We will never fully understand why the Lord lets such tragic accidents occur, but we see the impact it has…

It is always good to commemorate and remember days like these, it is such a shame and heartbreaking that it happened in the first place, it truly impacted us as a society. A day like this should be about being with those who might've been affected, and if we don't know anybody it should be a reflective day, to think how something so awful somehow brought the country together, how a crisis can do that, and how future crisis's are not all bad, that even in the darkest moments we have eachother

I too have visited ground zero in New York City, and it is certainly something I believe every American should experience. We can hear the stories and view the video clips of the attack, but there is just something different about being there and seeing where this all took place those many years ago. I believe that many of the people of America do not remember or acknowledge our history, which is why many of the corrupt decisions today are being made. It was events like 9/11 that brought the country together and made us realize that there are others out there who do not share the same views and freedoms as we do.

Although we had to ada…

9/11 is a very important event in our house because my mom was actually in Manhattan that day. Even though I was born after 9/11, my mom has brought me and my brothers up with the details of that day, but also with the details of how America responded with such patriotism, collaboration, love, and resilience. The America she describes that existed on 9/12 seems unfamiliar to me now because we are so divided today.
