Biden Post Debate Bump

The electoral impact of debate is often, well, debated. This is certainly the case with the "Pardon the Interruption" strategy deployed by both candidates. The best metric for identifying the war of words victor lies in the polls. That metric declares Vice President Biden triumphant.

While the macro polling news looks dire, the president faces greater threat as Biden now leads among both senior and suburban female voters. These two groups were critical to Trump's 2016 victory.

The outcome of the election has significant implications for the lives of millions of Americans, and as Christians, we should be engaged in the political process and seek to vote according to our values and beliefs. We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves and to work for the well-being of all people, particularly the most vulnerable and marginalized. Therefore, it is important to consider how our political choices can contribute to the flourishing of society as a whole.

At the same time, we should remember that our ultimate allegiance is to God, not to any political party or candidate. While it is important to be informed and engaged citizens, we should also be humble and open to learning…

I remember watching the debates during the 2020 election and feeling like I wasn't learning much from each candidate, it was kind of like watching two middle schoolers have an argument. A lot of the time the former president, Donald Trump, would talk over Biden responses and it was very unprofessional on his part. I think that because of Trump's unprofessionalism and his lack of respect for Biden during these debates, cost him a lot of votes when it came time for the election.

As the 2020 election happened I remember watching the debates and not gaining much knowledge from either party it was a very argumental debate rather than trying to give the audience reasons to vote for them. Unfortunately former President Donald Trump was not very professional and was just trying to interrupt Biden on most things he was saying, and when Biden spoke well... most of the time it didn't make much sense or he would contradict what he was saying. With the debates it caused a lot of people to shy away from voting for Trump

I remember watching the debates during the 2020 presidential election race and feeling like I did not learn much about the Canidates because they spent most of the time interrupting each other. President Trump spent a lot of his time attacking Joe Biden rather than stating his position on issues. This is likely why there was a shift towards Biden in the senior and suburban female voting pools. It would have likely boosted Trump’s polling numbers post-debate if he had taken the more professional approach and refrained from attacking Biden every chance he got. As someone who voted for Trump, these debates were disappointing to me, and I wish Trump would be more professional when it comes to debate and…

I find it interesting that demographics that were so key for Trump's election were those that helped Biden assume the Presidential role. If senior and suburban females were a big enough percentage of the voting pool to pull a Trump win, what happened for them to switch sides in order to pull a Biden win? That is interesting and something to study for the next presidential candidates.
