Many shelter in place (SIP) edicts whether statewide or countywide include a list of essentials. The pedestrian staples list including gas and groceries are common sense additions but what to make of what I call the "addict staples" such as liquor and even marijuana in Colorado?
My question-where is coffee on this list? No telling what happens if my favorite local java joints get shuttered!
What is your staple that has helped you during this time?
I know a lot of people who needs a cup to get through the day. I personally don't like it, but I fear some of my freinds Jobs and sanity if they whre suddenly separated from the stuff.
Coffee was definitely one of my staples back in March when we were first ordered to stay at home. A cup of water and a mug of black coffee was what I had for breakfast.
My day only starts when that mug of black coffee is finished. Coffee helped me stay in a positive mood during the tedious days at home. When grocery stores started running out of toilet paper, my main concern was that grocery stores would run out of coffee. Thankfully, the grocery stores didn't run out of coffee and I was able to have coffee every day during quarantine.
For an international student, I don't have a strong interest in Coffee. Maybe my traditional culture affects my habit to have some different forms of American habit.
If I should choose one stuff which I really like in the market, it should be coke.
For my county, coffee actually has been deemed essential, so sometimes I got out and get some. It's one of the only times I get out and drive, which is kind of funny.
My staple during this time would have to be avocado!! I have been making all my meals at home and my mom pretty much wont let me leave so my favorite coffee shop isn't an option. Its interesting to see what are "essential" places of business. Good to see people supporting their local businesses.
