COVID Crisis?

Several states pushed for opening their local economies in late May and early June. These actions are yielding a spike in new COVID cases. While an increase was logical and expected, the cases levels were higher than most officials project by a wide margin.

how do impacted states respond now? Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered some public facilities closed again as Texas cases skyrocket. Is this prudent or excessive? Time will tell.

With how our economy is ran and with how many individuals were placed under unfortunate conditions, it was not surprising that the general population wanted the lockdown to end as soon as possible. Everyone in the United States had remained so busy that when instructed to remain home several lives changed completely. Looking back, it is insane that so many were willing to risk their health just to work their 9-to-5 again and fight so much against the mask mandate that was placed and lifted off and on again.

I remember with everything reopening it felt that the nation was going to undergo another outbreak resulting in the economy and society starting over in the progress that was made. During…

I feel like after so much time with our government being shut down it was time to open back up. We could do this with caution but our economy could not countinue to stay close much longer. We witnesses so many small businesses and private businesses ike mom and pop shops forced to close their doors. Governor Abbott did a good job in my opinion of being realistic at the same time using caution. Covid 19 has become something we just have to live with. We were one of the few firsts states to open back up and I think it was time. I feel like many states stayed in lockdown for personal political reasons rather than a re…

Seeing how things have changed since the pandemic has been a big adjustment. I personally think social media made it seem like something that was supper extreme but as time passed it became something people started to get more comfortable with and people were staring to go back to their every day lives. Now there are many people vaccinated and aren't scared to continue their lives as they were in the beginning.

It is interesting to see where we are at now since this blog was posted. There was a period back in February 2021 when cases started to rise. However, the state of Texas did not require any business to shut down and eventually, cases started to decrease. It seems covid is starting to become the new normal and something we will have to deal with for the rest of our lives. More and more research has come out since this blog and it doesn't seem as scary as it used to be.

Well...time has told. The summer showed an increase in cases since this blog was posted. Texas did not do much in shutting the state back down as much as individual businesses closed and people went back indoors out of fear. I personally do not think Texas should have opened back up as much as they did; this virus gave us more than we expected to begin with, so how could we trust it to stay within our range of guessing if we opened back up? At least we knew that shutting down worked, so that's what the state went to.

Cases remained not the best, but lower as time went on into the winter. Opening back up as the vaccine…
