President-elect Joe Biden will outline the details of his COVID relief package tonight in a televised address. The media has leaked specific initiatives including more direct payments, increased unemployment, and possible student loan relief among other programs. This is obviously the first major Biden administration policy initiative and the rollout is occurring while sitting President Donald Trump is battling impeachment charges for a second time. Interesting times indeed.
Looking over this post long after the pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 can cause so many memories to reappear. Because of the fear and helplessness, the people of the states felt, I remember them relying so heavily on this announcement. Being a couple of years later, I have witnessed the effects of Biden's relief package and have experienced some first-hand.
Though parts of the packages are still being processed and aren't expected to be finalized until the end of his term, the remaining efforts were successful further impacting the lives of civilians tremendously. On the other side of COVID-19, I would say the Biden relief package helped so many American families because COVID-19 hurt our economy so greatly; the stimulus helped our economy, including food for groceries and toilet paper. I don't know if the American people have recovered from COVID-19, both financially and emotionally.
I believe that it will take many years for us to be able to quantify the effects of the pandemic not only on Americans but the world. But as believers in Jesus, we can rejoice because we are seated safely in Him. In Jesus is victory, peace, and joy, and as we place our trust in Him, we can experience victory, peace, and joy as well!
Its been a while since this relief plan was announced, and it was indeed a big announcement and a big decision for the Biden administration given that it was one of the first actions they would be taking. It is sad to see that there would be so much unemployment coming out of this specific season, and that families would have to struggle during already difficult time, when people were dealing with loss. I do think that the students that got their loans to be taken care of were fortunate, however I am not sure many people were happy about this.
Being a student in 2021, I can remember looking forward to what President-elect Joe Biden was going to say about the program. When a leader makes an announcement like this, several thoughts go through my mind. The new plan proposed by Biden to provide COVID relief is definitely one in which I believe done great things in 2021. His plan after such a hard year have been very helpful to US citizens. The proposal included an increase in unemployment benefits and student loan relief, amongst others. I have personally experienced such great help from the package and the student loan relief program is currently one I have heard where people are experiencing complete debt cancellation for their loans, which has lifted such a weight from people.
