So About the Draft

You may recall the previous NFL draft ratings note. The 2019 first round drew 11 million viewers. Well, last night's production pulled in 15.6 viewers. The league knew hungry sports fans were clamoring for original content and it delivered. What happens when we actually have games?

This does speak to the mental state COVID-19 put Americans in as shelter in place leaves us all starving for entertainment. Other content providers are certainly taking note. Tiger King only takes folks so far.

Having the NFL draft still happen while we have a pandemic going on shows how Many people want things to go back to normal. Seeing that so many fans watched the draft just eager for games to start is something to look forward to in this time of sorrow. I hope these new players will get the chance of getting to play even though it might not be as normal as it used to be. I will be watching and praying that players will have the chance to play and that football will return to normal this year.

I think that everyone who enjoys watching sports, understands how insane it is that there are absolutely zero sports to watch right now. Having some "normalcy," such as the draft helps for Americans to have hope and feel excited regarding something! I know that Cowboy fans everywhere were excited about the draft of Cee Dee Lamb and what he can produce for their franchise, so I can only imagine that fans everywhere were ecstatic for the draft as well.

It is so interesting the hunger for stimulation our world has! Through sports entertainment, TV shows like the Tiger King, and much more. I love sports, and TV and I am ready to have it all back again.

I think it is crazy how much the numbers went up from last year and this is simply because people do not have much else to do or get excited about. People are used to going out to games and doing things outside but this is pretty much the closest thing that will get people to sports during this time.

I myself was one of the fifteen million. I definitely believe that the loss of original content is going to exacerbate the American hunger and need for entertainment. There are so many day to day things that we have lost entertainment-wise, like access to the movies and certain television shows. We must even consider the shows and movies that might not available come the fall because of basically halted production. I feel like the masses will be out and about once we receive the all-clear. It is going to be an interesting maze to maneuver through. I think that it points out what our country and culture really care about which is both sad and not surprising.
