State & Local Layoffs

We typically assume government gigs are stable and safe. But state & local jurisdictions are facing layoffs in yet another example of the COVID-19 economy. This helps explain why certain members of Congress are lobbying for including sub- national units in the 4th stimulus package. Senate Majority Mich McConnell (R-Kentucky) has thus far resisted the idea even calling on states to declare bankruptcy like Michael Scott.

My family has been affected by layoffs from covid19 and it can be a frustrating thing. It is difficult to see someone so close be let go of a company they have been loyal to. It forces me to trust in God and know that his thoughts and plans are higher than ours.

State & Local Layoffs is interesting for me. In the past, I knew the customers are always right in some business management textbook to teach me did no try to an argument with the customers, and when I came to united states, people told me the government officer is the "customers" in the united states because they are really hard to be fired. That's why the government is so slow and DPS is so hard to give me the Driver license.

Personally, my family has not been affected much by the state and local layoffs. I do know that my boyfriend works in the oil and gas industry and has been laid off due to the tremendous decrease In gas prices. While other people celebrate the tanking prices of gas, he, on the other hand, is not celebrating because that was what supplied his income.
